Map was prepared based on the information provided by Ryszard Wajszczuk
      (0948) from Kolonia Sułów.

An excerpt from his letter dated September 13, 2007 describes the
experiences of the members of the Wajszczuk Family in this area during the
Second World War:"None of the members of the Wajszczuk Family in
this area perished or was jailed during WWII. Expulsion from their
properties by the Germans affected in Sulow the family of Jan Wajszczuk,
which nowadays belongs to Tadeusz Wajszczuk (0939), and of Walenty
Wajszczuk (1250). The women and children fled to Podborcze and the men hid
in the forests. They all returned to their homes (after the war). Nobody
was an active member of the Underground Organizations and nobody belonged
to the partisans. On the other hand, the boys - Tadeusz, age 14 and
Marian, age 9 - were transporting by horsewagons the weapons for the
partisans in the area of nearby Zwierzyniec. That is all information,
which we have regarding the Wajszczuks." |
