Tomaszów Mazowiecki (Tobiasze) – is a town in central Poland
with 67,159 inhabitants (2004). Situated in the Łódź Voivodeship (since
1999), it was previously part of Piotrków Trybunalski Voivodeship
(1975–1998). According to the 2002 survey, it occupies an area of 41.3
square kilometers. The town is situated on the banks of three rivers—Pilica,
Wolbórka and Czarna Bielina, near the Zalew Sulejowski reservoir and at
the edge of the Puszcza Spalska wilderness area.
Tomaszów Mazowiecki gained status as an industry and trade village

Ujazd is a village in Tomaszów Mazowiecki County, Łódź
Voivodeship, in central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative
district) called Gmina Ujazd.[1] It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7
mi) north-west of Tomaszów Mazowiecki and 39 km (24 mi) south-east of the
regional capital Łódź.
Ujazd was mentioned in the documents for the first time in 1283
as a property of a knight Racibor; in 1428 – a town founded by Piotr Tłuk
from Stryków; XV-XVI c. – important trade and economy center; 1869 – lost

Żelechlinek
is a village in Tomaszów Mazowiecki County, Łódź Voivodeship, in central
Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina
Żelechlinek. It lies approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north of Tomaszów
Mazowiecki and 40 km (25 mi) east of the regional capital Łódź.[1]
First documents date back to the end of the XV century and describe
the erection of a new parish, which was created from parts of the existing
earlier parishes in Głuchów and Budziszewice. Żelechlinek parish had in
the XV century 288 inhabitants.
King Władysław Jagiełło passed through this village with his army on June

Conclusions and plans:
Village Tobiasze belongs to the administrative district of Ujazd, where
exists an ancient St Adalbert (Wojciech) Parish, which was erected already
in 1429. We were not able to establish, how old is the village of
Tobiasze. Żelechlinek existed already at the end of the XV century.
1. Our immediate plans are to initiate searches in the archives of: a/ the
St Wojciech (Adalbert) Parish in Ujazd (erected in 1429), b/ St Bartłomiej
(Bartholomew) Parish in Żelechlinek (erected at the end of XV c.) and c/
St Antoni Padewski (St Anthony from Padua) in Tomaszów Mazowiecki (erected
in 1826).
2. It can be assumed (to be proven) that the Wajszczy(a,u)ks came to the
town of Tomaszów
Mazowiecki from Tobiaszów – but where did they live earlier?
3. Did the Wajszczy(a,u)ks in this area belong to the same family - (errors
in surname spelling)?
4. Can any names from this group be found in the earlier records in
Zelechlinek and Ujazd –
did they live in the Mazowsze (Masovia) region earlier? and how early?
Perhaps before their
appearance in Trzebieszow?
