HISTORY OF THE TRADE SCHOOL COMPLEX
in Brzeg Dolny: 1948-2001
... In February 1951, M. Ciundziewicka resigned for family reasons from the directorship position and left Brzeg Dolny. Boleslaw Wajszczuk was nominated for this position. During his tenure, 60 graduates finished the Industrial School in the specialties of chemistry, mechanics and electronics. To qualify for graduation, they had to complete various apprenticeship tasks, among others: latch-keys, pipe tongs, metal cutters.
During the summer vacation of 1951 the school moved to a new building, which was still not quite finished. The organizational difficulties caused Dir. B. Wajszczuk to fall ill and he required hospital tratment. The directorship of the School was entrusted to Olga Robaczynska, M.S., who in spite of the lack of experience, returned it to normal functioning. The new school year 1951/1952 was started in very difficult circumstances. There was no water in the school building and the sewers were not functioning. ...

About Bolesław Wajszczuk – his daughter Ludmiła Niezgoda (0365)
Bolesław Wajszczuk, son of Józef, was born in 1902 in Sitaniec n/Zamość.
After graduation from the Teachers College, he worked during the 1929-36 period as a School Principal in Nielisz n/Zamosc. In 1936, he settled with his family - wife Dioniza, nee Kirsch and two children - Adam, born in 1926 and Ludmila, born in 1929 - in Tarnow and began working in the I State Gymnasium and Lyceum named after K. Brodzinski in Tarnow.
During the (Nazi) occupation, the School was closed. During that time, he worked as Principal of the Grammar School in Skrzyszow in Tarnow county. At the same time, he was a liaison officer of the County Commission of Education and Culture of the Clandestine Teachers' Organization, and an organizer of clandestine education in the Skrzyszow Commune.(Bibliography - a book: "Tajne Nauczanie" ("Clandestine Teaching"), author - Czesław Sterkowicz, publisher - Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Ziemi Tarnowskiej, year - 1985, p. 213).
After the war, he resumed the employment in the I Lyceum. Since 1949 - worked in the Builders' Technical (Trade) School in Gliwice and in 1959 - became Director of the Chemical Technical (Trade) School in Brzeg Dolny. For political reasons - conflicts with the Public Security Office (Urzad Bezpieczenstwa Publicznego - state secret police organization) - was forced to resign his position and returned to Tarnow. Subsequently, he was employed in the Chemical Technical School in Tarnow-Moscice and retired in 1962.
In 1975, he was awarded a Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for his distinguished contributions to clandestine teaching during (WWII Nazi) occupation (see below).
He died in Tarnow on November 15, 1985. His wife Dioniza - also a teacher - died in June of 1992.
